How to Use the Crime Data Map

Welcome to the Crime Data Visualization platform. This interactive map provides a graphical representation of crime data across different regions. Here's how you can make the most out of it:

Navigating the Map

Zoom in and out using your mouse wheel. Click and drag the map to move around or click anywhere to focus in.

Applying Filters

Use the dropdown menus in the left sidebar to filter crime data by category or outcome status. The map will update to reflect your selections.

Understanding the Layers

Toggle between heatmap and count layers to view crime data differently. The heatmap shows the density of crime while the count layer shows the number of crimes in each area.

Time Slider

Adjust the time slider to view crime data over different periods. You can play an animation of data changes over time by clicking the 'Play' button.

Legend

The legend at the bottom right of the map correlates colors to crime categories, helping you to interpret what you see at a glance.

Getting More Details

Mouse-over any point in the map to get more details about the crime incidents reported in that location.

Fetching Data

After setting your desired filters and time range, click 'Fetch Data' to update the map with the latest information. Please note, the bigger the date range, the longer it will take to fetch the data
